I think that we in Bee Gees land should be very happy and glad that we still have after 40 years, yes 40 years, one brother still performing and the other in the process of making a new country album. But we still find things to moan about. Lets realize that we will never get anther FEVER era... Lets just grow old gracefully with whatever they decide to give us and be happy that they are still giving us some enjoyment.. Guess I've drank too much wine tonight.... Although I must admit that Robin's version of How deep is your love is just not that good (sorry). I guess it's not a song that is suited for Robin's voice, it just never takes of like Barry's version does, it sounds flat. Robin's version of Words however is really refreshing. Hey, it 's actually a folk song when you hear together with Nigel Kennedy playing the violin. Thanks again for sharing. It didn't happen for him. Not due to any lack of talent or effort on Barry's part, but he did fall flat in that solo endeavor. I think "Now Voyager" ultimately has to be viewed as an uneven, perhaps even disappointing effort. Either way, Barry & Sons remains an undefined and somewhat odd partnership. Its hard to figure out what, if anything, his sons add. There is that "Living in the Rain" song Barry did with Steve, which seems to be a real colloboration. Maybe "Underworld" too. Other than that, what does Steve, a heavy metal/grunge guitarist, contribute with his father, the ultimate pop music craftsman? Ashley is an even harder case, since there is no musical history for him other than his songwriting credits with Barry. Moreover, unlike his brother, he did not seem to get involved in music until he was well into his 20's, which is rather late. He is listed as a co-writer on all the new material from "Guilty Pleasures", but is it possible to identify any contributions he made. Perhaps he did, but how can one tell? Based on the Striesand album I'd say the lyrics. Certainly not as vague as some Bee Gees songs. I would like more to see more David English contributions also, based on the excellent ' how many sleeps'.
