So if he wasn't saddled with R&M all those years and been a solo performer he would have sold more than the paltry 100 million+ records the Bee Gees sold, more #1's, better longevity, etc. He would have had some career! I guess the speculation is that Barry minus R&M would have been better and more sucessful. I am inclined to think the reverse is true, Barry's talent notwithstanding. >I think Barry has always been the driving force behind the Bee Gees, and >that not he wants/needs the acknowledgement/praises for what he gets involved >in. Barry, like all artists, wanted recognition and praise for his talent and accomplishments. Nothing unusual or wrong about that. But, I doubt he was especially different in that regard. >Poor Robin really. Without Barry, will e just turn into a lounge act? ....>.----===*Chris... Not if his songwriting comes back. Perhaps it's wishful thinking on my part, but I think Robin may be showing some signs of coming out of his creative valley. That's it!!!! Simple as >that!!!! A little testy aren't we? No, I think he want's it both ways... Nothing wrong with that. He is doing a lot more than he used to, to be more out in the open, Barry Gibb Radio, Barry Gibb TV, His DVD with the movie skits. I think it is just as he has said, "Perhaps it time for a little 'free flight'". I think he needs to do things on his own for a while, later in time, he will work again with Robin. I do not think they will continue as a group, but a project/record or two. More than that I really doubt it. http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2007 22:41:27 EDT From: Compoccias@aol.com Subject: Re: Chances of a professional reunion? And that would not be a terrible thing either... Why would Robin become a footnote in history when he was part of the Bee Gees? Regardless of what he does in the future nothing will change that.
