How come that in 35 years the Bee Gees never released a single with Maurice's lead vocal in it? For instance, Wildflowers would have been a good single in 1981. that has been in my thoughts for years, beatles done it with ringo, abba done it with the men lead singing but never maurice, I cant recall a stones single without jagger singing either Brian Could be due to the fact that the Bee Gees were always so concerned with having a hit that they may have been reluctant to put out a single with Mo on lead for fear it would throw listeners off and adversely affect the single's chances of becoming a hit. For the most part the Bee Gees were very cautious when it came to putting out singles, so introducing a third and different voice from what the public was familiar with, may have been seen as an unnecessary risk. Musically, I certainly think it could have been done. Overcompensation by joking around on stage (even after performing since age nine???) I can understand that. But the voice over on "One Night Only" (ONO-thank you Marty for spelling it out) "Closer Than Close" was disappointing. Was it that 'key' he get it perfect for the DVD/CD or was his voice in poor shape? Will we ever know? Will someone EVER send ME a nasty anonymous encrypted note? I am SO tired of virus's! Marty From SF My brother saw their millenium concert in Florida and he said Maurice's lead on Closer than Close had no backing track and he sounded very poor. He was a heavy smoker, perhaps his voice was damaged by then? Which makes one wonder what was the personal dynamic between them in the late 70's, particularly between Barry and Robin, given that Barry virtually became the only lead singer. I have always wondered what was Robin's real feelings about losing his co-lead singer role during that period.
