(I love his voice on "Two for the price of one".) True, but since it was the b-side to Ring Ring (German version) it still wouldn't be as featured as an a-side would have nor would a Mo lead vocal on the b-side of a Bee Gees single. > I agree with earlier remarks about "Above and Beyond" and "Overnight". They > would have worked much better without Barry's falsetto. A&B - maybe, maybe not. Overnight - definitely. Think I have to revisit Elisa again I would hope that we see a CD of Maurice' unreleased works in the future. Would be a nice treat. /Ronnie Apatisk livsnjutare http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Jun 2006 07:48:04 -0700 (PDT) From: Marty Hogan Subject: Maurice Grant said: <<>> During the 1989 "One" Tour, Barry would announce, "And now its Maurice's turn to make a fool of himself " and Maurice would 'swagger' to the front center and sing "House Of Shame". Yesterday, I started thinking of the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle and = drew comparisons and similarities with the Gibb brothers to the brothers = on Malcolm in the Middle - mainly, their ability to get into trouble = when they were younger. Barry =3D Francis - mainly because Francis was the oldest. Robin =3D Malcolm (because they're both the "middle" of five kids and = because Malcolm is the one with the genius IQ (165) and Robin comes = across to me as being quite intelligent. I'm not saying the others = weren't, but I pick up the stereotypical "eccentric intellectual" image = from Robin. Maurice =3D a Malcolm/Dewey - because out of the brothers, those two = were probably the friendliest. Andy =3D Dewey - because, until Jamie came along, Dewey was the baby - = and Andy was always the "baby" of the family. I bet no one ever thought that the Bee Gees and Malcolm in the Middle = could ever be related! They also use anonymity to mask their cowardice... I find it best to ignore them. Giving them a platform or acknowledgment in any way, gives power to their weak attempt at action. Although a little public humiliation does go a long way... European Report 6/20/06 'Copyright societies do not work against the interests of their authors. The European Commission has taken this message on board', according to European societies of authors and composers (royalty collecting society) which, at a three-day hearing in Brussels last week, defended their contractual practices regarding the transmission of music over the Internet, cable and satellite, which the European Commission deems anti-competitive. Some 200 delegates representing societies of authors and composers, authors, plaintiffs and Internet, cable and satellite users, were heard behind closed doors by the Commission's Competition DG from 14 to 16 June. 'The hearing passed off better than anticipated and without any clashes', according to a source close to the dossier. Speakers including artists like Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees and French singer and songwriter Yves Duteil were not out of place, he said. From: BeeGees75230@aol.com > it was robin who said that. Yes, at the "One Night Only" 1997 Las Vegas concert, not at the "One For All" 1989 Melbourne concert which Marty was referring to. At One For All it was Barry who uttered that routine and Maurice swaggered to the center mic. At One Night Only he stayed put behind the keyboard and sang Closer Than Close after Robin introduced him. /Ronnie Apatisk livsnjutare http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ End words@brothersgibb.com Digest [06/20/2006 15:01] ----------------------------------------------------
