There's nothing wrong with mentioning a drug in a song, is there? I've never thought there's anything wrong with it. Michelle Some have argued that all of those songs from the 60's and 70's referencing drugs may have contributed to the prevalent use of drugs during that time, and beyond, particularly among young people. So, its not an issue to be dismissed. Whether Robin (or the composers)s of that song) had that in my mind, I have no idea. Thinking about it, I suppose numerous drug references in songs could have an adverse effect on young and impressionable people. I'd like to think that most who make drug references aren't doing so with the intention of encouraging others to take them, though. I absolutely love both Chain Reaction and Secret Love. A&B is just good. The thing I really don't like about it - dare I say it - is Barry's falsetto on the Some love never dies, story of our lives line. The same thing with Overnight. I think Barry's falsetto is too much on the foreground in those 2 songs. Let Maurice sing the song! I love Robin's interlude in Secret Love. However, there is something very infectious in A&B. I think it's the gentle voice of Mo and the prominent rhythm guitar. As to Barry's falsetto in Overnight and A&B (and even in For Whom the Bell Tolls' chorus, especially the live version), I could not agree more with you Michael. We miss you Maurice. I would love a Maurice-only version of A&B! (And Robin's interlude in Secret Love, it's just beautiful I think) Michel PS: is there a recording of a live version of For whom the bell tolls? -----Original Message----- From: "David Yang" To: "words List Member" Date: Sat, 17 Jun 2006 20:46:53 -0300 Subject: [words] Above & Beyond > That's what I meant (Motown arrangements) by "basically the same > track". > I love Robin's interlude in Secret Love.
