When I first heard High Civ I had a similar feeling to when I first heard "Secret Agent". Ironically, though I actually like the last two tracks a lot. I think it's the middle where the album loses it. I don't like Party with no Name, Ghost Train or True Confessions at all. In fact, I'd say that True Confessions is one my worse Bee Gees tracks. The frantic beat/flurry of keyboards indicates the panic in a parent's heart and the fear they live with. Listening to the story of the song speaks volumes to my soul. Jean-Anne go the extra mile, it's never crowded Very well put Jean-Anne. gingee ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2006 07:36:57 -0400 From: "Lumdeloo" Subject: Re: Digest (06/05/2006 15:01) (#2006-2121) > In a message dated 6/11/2006 12:25:29 PM Eastern Standard Time, > lumdeloo3@brothersgibb.com writes: > > >The fact that Barry dominates the vocals probably comes with the fact > they > >do a lot of dance tracks, the misconception being that Robin cannot > to > those > >as well. Hahahaha!!! In that case I would have told Robin: 7 out of 11 is not bad at all. No reason to be dissatisfied. Just stay around and write a few more quality songs. http://www.brothersgibb.com Bee Gees News and Information ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2006 07:55:47 -0400 From: "Lumdeloo" Subject: High Civilisation -----Original Message----- From: "Julian Glass" To: "words List Member" Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2006 04:39:15 +0100 Subject: [words] Digest (06/11/2006 21:01) (#2006-2142) > High Civ has some uninspiring on it - Secret Love / Happy Ever After / > Party With No Name / Human Sacrifice and an oddity - not a ballad on > track three. Dimensions / The Only Love (especially the coda) / True > Confessions / Evolution are truly wonderful though. Mmm, I guess there's no way we can come to some consensus about this album, LOL! The only thing everybody seems to agree upon is that Party With No Name is nobody's favourite.
