Family responsibilities as father of the bride take me away for this important event. If I may allow me to leave you with my views as an NRC member and Middletown resident, respectful of the views and fears of others and the power of Town Government but also mindful of the rights and safe conduct of the NRC. It is clear at this point that NRC is a well regulated, safely operated and valuable private community resource. It is an American institution in Middletown whose membership spans age, race, faith, gender and politics to safely and responsibly pursue target shooting activities. As a small example of freedom, rights and responsibility I would commend you for taking a hard look at their activity, recognizing the good and concluding that NRC is an example of the kind of organization that enables hands on lightly if any at all governance from the town. I think you should continue to keep an eye on NRC if you please (they have nothing to hide) but please don't impose a trumped up fix on something that is not broken. With all do respect to my neighbors who allegedly suffered a stray shot from an illegal shooter, but were not struck by an NRC bullet in any case, and who now seem bent on tampering with NRC's future, they need to cease the histrion ocs and move on. Pushing to Impose NRC regulatory hoops is simply thinly veiled tyranny and discrimination. The Town would be better served to spend their resources fixing real problems. May you be just and wise in your considerations. Thank you and sincerely, Douglas (Scott) Thompson Howland Avenue, Middletown, RI --_0623-1738-12-PART-BREAK Content-Type: text/html

Subject: [nrcforum (Moderated)] CONSIDERATION FOR REGULATING NRC

Dear Town Council members and neighbors,

Regretably I will miss Town Meeting next week.

Thank you and sincerely,

Douglas (Scott) Thompson
