I'm 45 years old and have relatives who when talking with my oldest sister still ask her how Nisa and the kids are doing. The kids are me and my younger sister (who is 41 years old). I've come to accept being designated as one of the kids. I don't think Andy would have ever been referred to as an adult, because he would always been the baby brother. Obviously most people knew he was the Bee Gees' > brother, but what did they think of him? Actually I think most people did not even know there was a younger brother. At least from our perspective in the States, he just came out of nowhere with 'I just want to be your everything'. I don't recall for sure that I knew about him myself before that. In the previous year or so, he had made some television appearances in Australia, but that's the only place where there would have been much awareness of him as a musical artist. His pre-Barry songs were promising. 'Flowing rivers' is one of them. He had the disadvantage of no brothers near his age, nor other collaborators. Even Barry did not ever work solo for any great period of time. But this is all in retrospect to me and to nearly everyone. I waited a while to see if Kathy was around to answer your question, Holly, but in case she isn't, the album is called 'Eyes that see in the dark' - an entire album of Gibb songs sung by Kenny Rogers. 'Islands in the Stream' is on it too, with Dolly Parton. Barry does vocal backings on some of the tracks, but IMO (and alot of other people's) they sound far better when Barry sings them himself. Unfortunately, he's only done demos which aren't on general release:o( Maggie > > Also, Kathy, what albums are the songs "You and I", "Eyes That See In = > The Dark", "This Woman" and "Midsummer Nights" on? Hi, Holly! Sorry, I did not answer your question. Somehow I missed it. Sometimes I think I don't receive all the e-mails that come through. There seem to be answers sometimes to questions I never got.. anyway, the songs that were on KR's album IMO are some of the best songs they ever wrote and I just don't think KR did justice to them...nothing against KR. He just does not have the passion and emotion the Gibbs give their songs.
